A Family Adventure Begins

As a missionary to Peru, Eddie was the first to become acquainted with alpacas. Often, he would bring alpaca products home to the family as traveling gifts; sweaters, hats, mittens, even an alpaca Teddy bear for  grand daughter, Grace.

In the early part of 2004, he went to Peru for several weeks to live with a family and be immersed in the language to hone his Spanish skills. His wife, Jan spent her spring break with him in Lima and traveled to Machu Picchu; seeing the glorious countryside, visiting with the wonderful people, and watching the herds of alpacas which was her first exposure to the gentle creatures.

Deciding that Homestead was becoming too crowded and losing the small town feel, Eddie and Jan,  their three sons, Paul,  Phillip, and Timothy, along with daughters-in-law Megan and Jacki, and grand daughters Grace, Emma, and Kasey, decided to head west to start a new life.

Wanting to have a family business that would meet the gifts and talents of each member, the alpaca business, with its vast array of opportunities, was the perfect answer.

So here we are, three years later, living in God's country raising beautiful, gentle creatures, who bring much joy and peace to our lives.

With 20 years experience as a tomato farmer, time spent in cattle ranching and the last years in the produce packing and shipping industry, as well as his missionary work, Eddie is eager to use his skills and apply them to developing high quality alpacas whose fleece rivals none other. Added to that the other skills of the family in education, sales, management, business, medicine, art, and plain hard work, they fully believe that this goal can be accomplished.
